Ovarian Sertoli–Leydig cell tumours: A systematic review of relapsed cases

ObjectiveTo synthesize the evidence on Sertoli–Leydig cell tumour (SLCT) relapses, and identify clinicopathological characteristics prognosis of patients with recurrent SLCT.MethodsA literature search was undertaken all published cases SLCT relapse found in PubMed, Embase Web Science databases between January 1998 2021. All articles English reporting at least one case mentioning location or follow-up data were included. reported relapsed extracted. Student’s t-test Chi-squared test used for descriptive analysis, Kaplan-Meier statistical method applied survival analysis.ResultsEighty-five from 33 included this review. The median age 20 years (range 3–76 years) a time to 14 months 1–168 months). Forty-eight percent (36/75) relapses local 52% (39/75) distant. In subgroup conservative primary surgery, contralateral ovarian events (metachronous recurrent) more frequent paediatric population than adult (58.3 vs 18.2%; p = 0.005). Eleven had multiple relapses. Twenty-one (12/57) treated surgery after recurrence, 64.9% (37/57) radical which tends have better 2-year rate (78.5% 61.0%; 0.177). Overall 48 recurrence (95% confidence interval ±21.0 months) overall 5-year 38.9%. mean significantly higher diagnosed an early stage (I II) compared advanced (p 0.003).DiscussionThe results showed that poor occur mainly young patients, soon initial diagnosis. majority are located abdominopelvic region. Contralateral occurred frequently cases. Multi-modal treatment chemotherapy appears be best approach. chemotherapeutic regimen has yet defined.
